Congratulations to the Microsoft SkyDrive team on the recent news that the service has been selected as a PC Magazine Editors’ Choice Awardee.
Please visit the PC Magazine Editors’ Choice website for their entire review but I wanted to highlight the summary they provide for a quick glance:
Pros: Simple, clear, consistent interface. Clients for Mac, iOS, and Android, as well as Windows and Windows Phone. Fetch any file from a PC you set up. Syncing. Web interface to files and media. Photo slideshows. 7GB free storage space.
Cons: No music matching or Web streaming. Synced folders not for collaboration, just your own files. Windows 8 desktop mode requires separate installation.
Bottom Line: With Web, Android, iPhone, Mac, and Windows clients, and a nifty "fetch" feature, Microsoft’s cloud solution, SkyDrive, is one of the most complete offerings of its type.
I think that bottom line is what truly makes SkyDrive a universal cloud storage option. The SkyDrive team has worked hard to make the service accessible from as many platforms as possible with both mobile and desktop apps.
Congrats to the team on the great work to this point and I am sure they are already working on enhancements as this goes out.
