Here is a little tidbit I just grabbed from my Microsoft feeds that I had not heard about – a new beta tool for Microsoft Bing Search has just been released.

Bing Desktop delivers the beauty of the Bing homepage to your Windows desktop each day. Plus, get easy access to the Bing search box right from your desktop. Turn your searching into doing with Bing.

Bing Desktop Beta can be downloaded and installed quickly from the Microsoft Download Center and has a few settings when it is being installed and then some other settings to choose once it is installed.

After installation you have three choices to make in the below dialog box which includes setting your desktop wallpaper to Bing’s Image of the Day, setting your homepage to MSN on IE and setting Bing as your default search provider on IE.

After installation you immediately get today’s Bing Image of the Day on your desktop as well as a Bing Search Box right in the middle of the screen.

If you click the settings icon on the far right you will get a context menu that will allow you to pin the search box at the top of your screen.

When it is not in use it disappears from view and by hovering your mouse at the top of the screen you will see the bottom border of the box and a left click brings it into view so you can use it.

That same context menu also lets you start this program when Windows starts up, place the daily Bing Image on your desktop and activate the keyboard shortcut of Windows Key + H to bring up the search box.

If you are a Bing user this may be a nice tool to add to your system.
