The first update for the Windows Phone Lumia 800 is starting to roll out from Nokia. This update will address performance enhancements. These will include charging and audio quality improvements, as well as improved display switching in bright light.

Nokia said, “Starting today and rolling out over the next few weeks we will be releasing software updates to deliver exciting new features and performance enhancements including charging improvements to the award winning Lumia 800.”

As part of this update, Nokia is also pushing out a new free web-based 3D Maps app for the Lumia 800. This will be initially offered in 25 cities and will have new navigation functions. The video below demonstrates the app which allows you to get a real world 3D experience in these cities as though you were flying around town.
