As first mentioned on the TWiT Network’s Windows Weekly, Microsoft Office is on the way to iOS for current and next generation iPads! Also According to The Daily, both the Office for iPad and the Office for OS X Lion will presumably work with Office 365.

As The Daily also says the Office for iPad pricing will “most likely be significantly lower than existing Office products.” This pricing model would seem to work well with similar apps on the iPad.

While little is still not know about Office on iPad, with pricing and generally what works well on a tablet, it is pretty clear the iPad will not offer a full Office Experience, but as Office 365 does, cover most users need from the Office product.

The Daily’s Matt Hickey writes:

“According to sources, the tech giant is actively working on adapting its popular software suite for Apple’s tablet. With the iPad making up over 80 percent of the tablet market and millions of people worldwide using Office, that could mean big bucks for the tech giant based in Redmond, Wash.”
