Now that Thanksgiving has wrapped up the next holiday on the calendar is Christmas and it will be here before you know it. The decorations are already up everywhere!
The hustle and bustle of the season keeps us all busy but make sure you take the time to cherish those close to you and be grateful for the gifts each bring of themselves and share each day without question.
If you need a reminder on your desktop of how close Christmas is getting then you need this countdown timer from the Microsoft Windows Live Gallery. It will help you keep track of the days, hours, minutes and seconds leading up to 25 December.
The nice thing about this gadget is that you can reuse it each year just by updating the year in the options/settings.
When you install the gadget it appears with all zeroes in the countdown:
Click on the options icon and you get the only settings page for this gadget:
To make it work just update the year and you will have your Christmas Countdown gadget. However, this gadget will actually countdown to most any event/date you want it to and there are even some themed backgrounds for other holidays and events.
You can also customize with a generic color and then add your own title and date:
Once you have the date set just hit the OK button and you have your Countdown to Christmas ready to go!
