A couple of weeks ago we wrote about the fact that MSE would be provided to Small Business customers at no cost

At that time the only indication of when it would be provided was listed as early October.

Well we now have the date and it is today – 07 October 2010.

This new availability will allow small businesses that operate outside of the home to take advantage of Microsoft’s no-cost antimalware service that will help them save time, save money and remain productive while protecting them from viruses, spyware and other malicious threats.

For more information about this new availability, check out the Microsoft SMB Community blog and the feature story on

Up to 10 copies can be used at no cost per business customer.  As I said in my previous post this is a great deal as MSE is a solid program and at no cost it can really help a small business offset some costs in IT that they might have otherwise been forced to spend.
