haloreachxbox360bundle

Xbox Live’s @MajorNelson announced on his website and at Comic-Con this past week about the Halo: Reach themed bundle that will come out on 14 Sep 2010 when Halo: Reach the game hits retail shelves.  This bundle is based on the newly released Xbox 360 hardware shown off at E3 last month.

Amazon already has the console available for pre-order.

Designed by Bungie, the Xbox 360 Limited Edition “Halo: Reach” Bundle includes all the features of the newly designed Xbox 360 console, such as a 250 GB Hard Drive and the fastest built-in Wi-Fi for the easiest connection to Xbox LIVE. The bundle is available in limited quantities and only while supplies last, so fans who want to own a piece of the “Halo” mythology are encouraged to pre-order quickly.

The Xbox 360 Limited Edition “Halo: Reach” Bundle has a suggested retail price of $399 USD, and will be available on Sept. 14. To offer a closer look at the contents of the Xbox 360 Limited Edition “Halo: Reach” Bundle, Microsoft and Bungie unveiled an unboxing video of the bundle, which is available for download today on Halo Waypoint and Halo.Xbox.com.

You can view that unboxing video at the Bungie website as they do not allow embedding of the video on other sites.

@MajorNelson also posted some pictures on his flickr account to whet your appetite – Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo: Reach Bundle – pretty cool looking case if you ask me.

At $399.99 I wonder how many will buy this and is it really a value worth another $100 for the specialized case and this stuff in the box:

  • Xbox 360 250GB S Console with custom design
  • Halo: Reach Standard Edition rated “M” for Mature
  • Xbox 360 250GB S Removable Hard Drive
  • Two Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers with custom design
  • Xbox 360 Black Headset
  • Xbox 360 Composite A/V cable (standard definition)

What do you think?
