Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 304 #OTP

We are still wiping the sleep out of our eyes after we lost an hour overnight thanks to Daylight Savings Time here across much of the United States. Among the news this week we learned that Windows 10 officially crossed the 800 million device threshold, we had another week full of Windows Insider builds for both Fast and Skip Ahead Rings, plus we saw some leaks around Microsoft Edge on Chromium. Of course, the show is littered with headlines around app updates, services, security, social media, Xbox, gaming and a promise for a new privacy focus from Facebook. I catch you up on my latest space news and talk about a scary podcast extortion scam that is happening to some podcasters.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 292 #OTP

Once again this week we have a massive piece of news to discuss when it comes to Windows 10 and this time it shakes out fairly positive despite a handful of detractors about the news. Although there was no new Windows Insider builds for Fast Ring this past week, there was some Insider news so we will also discuss those items. However, the Microsoft Edge news dominates everything about Windows 10 this week. There are multiple app updates to cover on Windows 10 and Xbox One plus we have headlines from Amazon, Apple, Google, Qualcomm Snapdragon, and WordPress to share as well. Be sure to listen all the way through to catch everything. Thanks for listening.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 288 #OTP

Once again we are talking about the still to happen re-release of the October 2018 Update. I shared my thoughts on the one thing that could make things much clearer for everyone involved. I also share where we are at with current releases in the Windows Insider Program including potentially new code names for future feature updates after the release of Windows 10 19H1 next year. We then catch up on the normal collection of progress and new features/capabilities for several apps from the Microsoft Store and then talk about the looming end of life for Windows 7 and a new countdown timer that has appeared on the web. We also discuss the big Apple hardware announcements this past week along with Xbox related gaming news, some Spotify growth and benefits information, and changes to Flickr free accounts. There are other tidbits sprinkled throughout the show, so be sure to listen all the way until the end to catch everything!

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 274 #OTP

This week I kick off the show by trying to explain my screaming lobster analogy from last week’s episode about the changes in Windows 10 over the last three years. Hopefully, I helped and did not further muddy up the waters! Then we had a quick rundown of Windows Insider and pre-release news of the past week including no client side fast ring build. That means the likelihood is high that we will see an update this week with a long list of updates since it will have been two weeks since Build 17713 was released to testers. Big ticket item this week was Microsoft’s 4th Quarter FY-18 earnings that were announced on Thursday. Suffice it to say the demise of Microsoft is huge fake news! Of course we have plenty of other news for you so make sure you listen all the way to the end so you can catch everything.

Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 259 #OTP

Welcome to episode 259 of Observed Tech. It has been a while – much too long – but travel and being sick just crippled any extracurricular activity for me over the last month since our last show however, as always we are back behind the microphone and ready to catch up with everyone. We begin that catching up process by talking about the current status of the Windows 10 Redstone 4 feature update, which by the way still does not have a marketing name, that is in its final days of development before it will be released next month by Microsoft. There are plenty of builds to talk about in all of the Windows Insiders rings plus what features have been added at this stage for testing. I also share how my bare metal testing has expanded in these last couple of weeks as the final testing builds become more and more stable. There has also been progress in the Redstone 5 Skip Ahead ring so we detail those new builds that are the basis for the sixth feature update for Windows 10 that is expected this fall. Of course, there are other news headlines throughout the show including a couple of Windows Server releases, a couple of new apps, and insight on some of the first hands on reviews of Windows 10 on ARM so be sure to listen all the way until the end and not miss anything. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!
