According to a source the U.S. Military may be moving towards banning Google Glasses from their bases around the world.

This individual told me that they have personal knowledge of a directive that required military police at an overseas base in Europe to stop anyone wearing Google Glass entering the base and collect their names.

They did not state whether or not they were also required to order the individuals wearing Google Glass to remove them but this certainly sounds like the base commander is concerned about having Google Glass freely roaming around the installation.

Of course, this would not be the first time Google Glass has been banned in certain locations and you can easily find numerous reports of businesses and public places forbidding the wear of the devices.

Many military bases have restrictions concerning when and where photography may be taken around an installation so this may just be an extension of that policy but I will be keeping my eye out for more on this.

What do you think?

Should Google Glass wearers be able to freely wear their devices on a military base?
