Every once in a while you are in the right place at the right time.

A launch that was only visible for a short period of time on the ground due to cloud cover becomes an awesome sight when you are flying above the clouds.

The rocket was an Atlas V launched from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station by the United Launch Alliance (ULA) folks.

The Atlas V was in its 551 configuration which meant it had five 4-meter solid rocket motors strapped to it as well as the rockets single main engine on the first stage.

This was the second Mobile User Objective System satellite launched by ULA for the United States Navy and it weighed in at 15,000 lbs and was the heaviest satellite ever launched by an Atlas V rocket.
