Back in late November we wrote about the Microsoft Surface Owner Feedback Program that was going to be launched in order to get feedback from actual Surface owners about the new hardware from Microsoft and it seems the first survey is going live.

This is the email I just received about the initial survey:

Dear Microsoft Surface Owner,

Thank you for enrolling in the Microsoft Surface Owner Feedback Program. Microsoft commissioned GfK, an independent market research firm, to conduct this survey for the Surface Feedback Program. The survey should take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete and the information you provide will be used for research purposes only.

As a thank you for your participation, upon completing the survey, you will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win one of two $250 prizes.

Please click on the link below to begin this important survey.

(LINK REMOVED)

You may also copy and paste the link into your browser and hit enter to access the survey site.

Your opinions are important to us; we hope you will take a few minutes to tell us what you think!

Thank you in advance for your participation and valuable feedback.

Sincerely,

The GfK Research Team

Upon visiting the survey link there is a large reminder that the content of the survey and all the information relating to it is considered completely confidential and that by participating you agree to not disclose any of the information to anyone or make copies of it.

When I mentioned the survey on Twitter I did have a Surface owner ask about participating in this and so I shared our initial story with the sign up link. Turns out they were able to sign up for the program even now.

So if you own a Surface you can sign up at http://www1.gfk-wi.com/wix/p287393241.aspx?l=9 but make sure you have your Surface serial number handy to confirm ownership. I am not sure if you will get in on this initial survey but you will likely be considered for future ones at a minimum.
