Windows 8 General Availability Set for 26 October 2012

Here is an unexpected tidbit for the middle of your week – just posted on the Blogging Windows Blog by Brandon LeBlanc:

…October 26th, 2012! That’s right! Just a few minutes ago, Steven Sinofsky announced at Microsoft’s annual sales meeting that customers will be able to get Windows 8 – whether in upgrade fashion or on a new PC – starting on October 26th.

Windows 8 is currently in its Release Preview stage of development with Release to Manufacturing (RTM) expected in the first week of August.
