I recently purchased a LG Quantum Windows Phone 7 and will soon post about my First 24 Hours with the handset.  In the meantime I decided to do some experimentation regarding backgrounds for the devices Lock Screen and have eight images, courtesy of NASA, of Shuttle launches.

In order to grab these for your own Windows Phone 7 handset just browse to this page on your mobile browser and tap on each picture to open up the full size image and not the thumbnail below.

Then just Tap and Hold on the image until a menu comes up and then tap on Save Picture.  Do this for each image below or just the ones you want.

Then access your Windows Phone 7 Settings page and Tap the lock and wallpaper menu item. Next tap change wallpaper and tap on the Saved pictures tile to see all the photos you grabbed from this page.  Tap the one you want to use and you will then be presented with a cropping box which you can move around to capture just the part of the picture you want on your lock screen.

When your done there just hit the Windows hardware button to back to your home screen.  If you want to see what the image looks like just hit the lock button on your device and then unlock it.

Here is a video demo of the process:

I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.  I will do some more Windows Phone 7 background collections posts down the road.
