Yesterday was the second Tuesday of the month and that means security related updates were published via Windows Update for Windows users. Your system should already be updated if you have Windows Update set to automatic. If you do things manually then you need to visit Windows Update to grab those patches. We just experienced this at our jobsite. We found that there is another Thawte Premium Server CA that was issued creating a duplicate in our laptops. We have a few hundred laptops not able to connect unless we manually select the new cert….
Has anyone else had a problem with these August 2010 updates? My laptop running Windows Vista has been unable to access the internet via my home Belkin wireless router after installling the updates. By uninstalling ang reinstalling on a trial and error basis, it is one of the following that is causing the problem:
NET 3.5 update – KB983588
IE7 update – KB2183461
