The Other Patch Tuesday for June 2010

I can only imagine how this Patch Tuesday feels when it gets no love from the Internet and Tech web sites.

Oh, the other Patch Tuesday gets all the lights and recognition because it is always about security fixes which are very important.  However, all of the updates that come out on the second Patch Tuesday of the month are just as key to a safe and solid system. 

However, no one ever writes front page news about this Patch Tuesday so come on lets hear it for The Other Patch Tuesday!

• This update provides fixes and improvements to graphics, media foundation and print for Windows Vista platform.
• Platform Update Supplement Beta for Windows Vista (KB2117917)
• Platform Update Supplement Beta for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB2117917)
• Install this update to resolve the issue when you are running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, you configure the date, time and number format to use “Hebrew (Israel)” but when you select a date in a Windows forms application that uses DateTimePicker control, the date is displayed in the yyyy/MM/dd format.

Note: If you have Automatic Updates turned on the you will get the updates needed on your system next time Windows Update goes online to check. That is absolutely the best way to run your Windows system.
